Management Trainee Program

Wayne Farms offers a Management Trainee Program to recent college graduates. This program utilizes a structured rotational schedule, exposing Trainees to all phases of production, support functions and plant operations. Trainees are provided the opportunity to deepen their understanding of our business practices in a 15 to 18 month program, culminating in the Trainee being placed in a promotion-focused career path within one of Wayne Farms' production facilities.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for recent graduates excited about a potential long-term leadership position within Wayne Farms. Candidates will possess a Bachelor or Graduate degree from an accredited college. Wayne Farms' Management Trainees will be selected based on their leadership experience, academic performance and work history.

When will the program start?


Management Trainee Program starts in January, May and August, depending on your graduation date.

Do I have to relocate?


Wayne Farms encourages cross functional experiences and in order to complete assignments, relocation, and travel is part of the learning process. During the first 18 months, relocation will be a requirement.

Am I job shadowing for 15 to 18 months?


Absolutely not. During each rotation you would be assigned meaningful work during your rotation schedule. In addition, to your daily responsibilities, you will have areas of emphasis to learn and explore during the rotation.

What is the compensation like?


You’ll start off earning a competitive, entry-level income with eligibility for our company’s 401K, and health benefit package. Also, you will be eligible for merit increases during our annual review periods.

How long does it take to move up?


Once you begin the Management Trainee Program as a trainee, it’s all about you. If you have a solid attitude, self-motivation and the ability to think on your feet, how far and how quickly you go is really up to you. You can also explore career paths in other areas. If you’ve got what it takes, there’s really no limit to how far you can go.

What type of jobs do management trainees land into once complete the program?


Production Supervisor is the preferred developmental role for a trainee, as it will provide them with the managerial, leadership and operational experience unlike any entry level role in the poultry industry. Other roles trainees transition into are Superintendents, Broiler Representatives, Hatchery Technician and other corporate entry level roles.
