Wayne Farms Decatur Breaking Ground on $4.5 Million Customer Innovation Center

Oakwood, GA. (May 18, 2017) – Company officials, community leaders and representatives from the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industry were on hand today as Wayne Farms LLC broke ground on its new Customer Innovation Center. The Center is being constructed adjacent to the Wayne Farms Decatur Prepared Foods Complex, and will be the center of research, development and product testing for the company.

Wayne Farms Executive Succession Announcement

Oakwood, GA. (January 24, 2017) – Wayne Farms LLC is pleased to announce executive succession plans for Wayne Farms, effective April 1, 2017. After 21 years of outstanding leadership as Chief Executive Officer, Elton Maddox will assume the role of Executive Chairman and will continue to serve as Chairman of the Wayne Farms Board of Managers. Current Chief Operating Officer, J. Clinton Rivers, will become Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2017. This transition is part of a planned succession that began with Mr. River’s promotion to Chief Operating Officer in April 2014.

Wayne Farms Congratulates Allred Acres for US Poultry and Egg Environmental Excellence Award

Oakwood, Ga. (March 1, 2016) – A long-time Wayne Farms LLC contract farmer has been named one of only five farms in the nation to receive the Family Farm Environmental Excellence Award for 2016 from the US Poultry and Egg Association. Allred Acres of Laurel, Miss received the prestigious award during the 2016 International Production & Processing Expo, in Atlanta.

Allred Acres is owned and operated by Robert and Angela Allred. In addition to raising pullets for Wayne Farms since 1986, the Allreds raise cattle and grow hay. The Allred’s 200-acre farm raises 72,000 birds per flock in six poultry houses.

Elton Maddox Presented With US Poultry's Workhorse of the Year Award

Oakwood, GA. (January 25, 2016) – Wayne Farms’ president and CEO, Elton Maddox, was recently named USPOULTRY’s Workhorse of the Year during the International Poultry Expo, part of the 2016 International Production & Processing Expo. The poultry industry’s most esteemed honor is awarded annually in recognition of dedicated service and valuable leadership given to the Association and poultry industry.
